Fleetside rear bumper filler panels?
I've seen two trucks with the filler panels between the bumper and the bottom of the bed.
Today I pulled one of them off a junkyard truck--the drivers side was rotted beyond repair, but the passenger side is mint. How rare are these? -Brad

Re: Fleetside rear bumper filler panels?
Not too rare. Most of the time they are rusted as you experienced. Mine are in ok condition. I am looking for a spare set tho. I have a line on some, just wating to here back. They are reproduced i guess.

Re: Fleetside rear bumper filler panels?
they had those from the 67's through the 87's with the sport bumper or the stepside sport bumpers, pretty sure they were stock equipt. with that set-up/designed for rear wheel debris kick-up from the tires...... ive seen them for years, i could be wrong but there was never a right or left side i think they had extra holes for either side...to answer your question "ya all that old stuff is rare",ive got a couple pairs round here somewere

The one in the diagram doesn't look like the one for '60-'66... the earlier one has a few more bends to it. -Brad

Re: Fleetside rear bumper filler panels?
They have them for the 60-66 also. They came stock on my 63 short bed stepper. They are reproduced for both trucks. Check classic parts of america

Re: Fleetside rear bumper filler panels?
The repro's I've seen aren't made exactly like the originals. Before repro's were available I made my own. All the pics I took when building them that I had posted online have dissapeared, so I'll have to re-upload them, but I do have one of the finished shots still. The repro's don't have the four dimples in the middle, and I don't think they have the same style bends on the sides.

Re: Fleetside rear bumper filler panels?
These are what the repos look like. Stepside on the left, fleetside on the right. The repos for the fleetside do have the dimples, but the flange is rolled different.

Those look much nicer than the ones I found before! The flanges don't really show once they're mounted and the bumper is on anyways. My biggest grip about the repros I had seen before was the lack of dimples. Who makes those? Glad to see that the original details are being made into the repro's now! Edit: Saw that you listed Classic Parts of America as a vendor.

Re: Fleetside rear bumper filler panels?
Those are from Classic parts of America. I got a set for my stepside from them and was very happy with the fit and quality of the stamping. Like you said, once the bumper is on, all you can see is the flat surface anyways.
