62 GMC frame question....C notch?

Hey guys I've been doing some work on my stock 62, static front end drop sofar, and wanting to do same to the rear. I had an idea about shortening my longbed step, but also doing a c-notch bolt on. Would it be worth it to chop the frame to shortbed length since I would be doing the c-notch anyway? I'm thinking it would be a smart idea. I'm looking to go 6" down on rear.

Im not aware of any bolt in c notches for a 60-62 frame. Could you share a link?

yeah i never found one either but i had 5in coils and cut a coil so prob a little more than 6in drop without any notch just removed the bumpstops ran very well

Ahh I see. Well I see that your local to me. If you need to get some 62 swb frame measurements let me know and you can come measure it up. Or just chill and have a beer.

According to gmcpauls.com it's a bolt in c notch kit for 60-72's, part #254616. Here's the page where I found it. http://www.gmcpauls.com/60-66_suspension.htm It should work fine, right??? I was hoping for a simple kit like this one. Maybe if I do the right coils and blocks I won't need to then? I'm just worried about slammin the axle on the frame if I put any load in the back at all. I'm also planning on doing 17 or 18" rims all around with lo pro tires.

Not exactly sure about GMC frame but the frame is way different when comparing. 60-62 has x frame 63 on up have straight frame my buddy bought a kit stating the same 60-72 it would not bolt up due to the curve of the frame right over the axel come to think of it his is a 60 GMC so maybe the same frame as you I did put a c notch i got from KP but now i got a step notch

I'll have to research a bit more and see what's best. Hopefully I don't really need to c-notch unless I'm gonna go all out w/bags and become a frame dragger. Oneton can you give me a link or send me measurments to convert a 62 lwb-swb?

I went through this already with a CPP C - Notch Kit (#6372CNK) purchased from LMC, because it is listed as fitting "60 - 66".

I am returning it because it won't work on the early (60-61) frames.

LMC is making it right - so no big deal this time.

Spoke with Aaron at CPP Tech this morning and he confirmed it.... No "kit" for the early frames on the aftermarket that he or I are aware of.
