What did you get done 4/15/2012 the taxman cometh edition

Mine finally made it home albeit not completely done. It sure felt good to drive it for a couple of days. I still have to do maybe ten things to make it fully restored and complete but heres some pics...Bob , Davis and Marco over at Parlin Auto Body did a real nice job.. How about you all what did you get done?

Re: What did you get done 4/15/2012 edition

Well last night I finally got around to getting rid of the trashed Dualmatic locking hubs on my truck, and put in some brand new unopened Warn hubs from the 80s that I got for free. Also took the opportunity to put my new rotors on.

Played molly maid and cleaned/scrubbed/degreased the garage floor, rearranged the cab and my big tools to make more room, put together the wife's new patio set, replaced a leaky faucet cartridge, and mowed the lawn.

I had a shop replace the bad gas hoses on the gas tank. And had them replace the fuel pump while the tank was out.

I've been messing around with my/daughters new toy. It'll be my daily driver till she takes it over in 2 years. I've been getting the timing and carb mixture set. I'm new to carbed trucks so I've been on a crash course.

Re: What did you get done 4/15/2012 the taxman cometh edition

Worked on installing a new vinyl dash cover on my old dash. I used foam to fill in the cracks and bondo to finish smoothing everything up. After my billet dash insert comes in this week, I will be able to finish stretching the vinyl and finish up the interior. It has been a long and slow process, but it is about done! Next....The Body Work Begins!!!

Re: What did you get done 4/15/2012 the taxman cometh edition

Well, I needed a bit of extra space to do the body panel replacements that stays dry... So, I bought this jewell.

So the directions said assembly time 2 hours.... took me 2 1/2 DAYS !!! I will say, finally got it put together, and invented the most wonderful dialogue of new profanity that will serve our children well for years to come in the process.

Put a new dash in the dually along with a radio. Works great. Also, made some good scores from the pull a part in Columbia on Thursday.

Test started the 355 for my '86 K10 that I have yet to install. Had a few gas leaks, but they are taken care of now. ....Joe

Re: What did you get done 4/15/2012 the taxman cometh edition

Not a whole lot here. My wife was out of town most of the week, so it was just me and the kid. I am finally starting to see a few parts start showing up, so that's a good thing. I did drop off a seat at the upholstery shop, and started pulling my current stuff out.

Truck looks sharp, Bob. It does look like it was worth the wait.
