Re: Ideas needed for frame swap.
If thes s10 is anything but a long box and you want the 53 to be a short box it will be more trouble then its worth in my opinion. I went with a 2000-2007 tahoe frame for mine. I planned on doing widened fenders anyway but I can run stock wheels with a 235/55 tire and leave the fenders stock for now. I had the whole thing fabed up and mounted in a weekend with less then $100 in extra metal and I didn't need to change the wheel base or the 5.3l drive train.

Check the build threads in this section as there are two or there good ones on doing that swap and one of the members was kind enough to share his drawings for the brackets you need to hold the cab up off the frame right. As booger1949 said it's a lot of work to do right. |

Re: Ideas needed for frame swap.
this is a front, rear, and side view of my 48 gmc short box on a 2000-2001 chevy tahoe 4wd chassis at stock ride height. i raised the box 5 inches because i didnt want to cut out the bed floor for the rear upper shock mounts. tires are 235/55/17s on 2008-up spares/cop truck wheels. i still need to do alot of work like running boards and cut the front frame horns off to get the grille in. attery mount is a temporary.
