Lost Another Icon: Dick Clark

Just heard on the radio while in the garage Dick Clark passed away today at the age of 82 from a heart attack. America's "Oldest Teenager" is once again rockin' with Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, JP Richardson (The Big Bopper) and so many others. He gave so many young talented artists their first real airing on national TV. I grew up watching him after school and on the weekends. He will be missed for sure. Rest In Peace Dick and Rock On.

Re: Lost Another Icon: Dick Clark

Back in the early 90's my GF (wife now) and I were having dinner at Cheers in the Minneapolis Airport. We sat next to Dick Clark and his family. My GF wanted me to get him to sign something for us. I refused and said we should just leave the poor guy alone. I felt bad for them because people started to take notice of him and eventually formed a line seeking autographs. They were polite but had to leave after barely touching their food.

Some people are like Slinkies... not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
