Possible spedo noise
Ok so a while ago i changed all the lights in my wifes restored 84. And now there is a chirping sound coming from the cluster... It sounds to me like it has something to do with the spedo.. It is a repeatig chirping sound that gets faster as we start rolling faster.. Doesnt do it at speed tho only going less than about 10-15. Does this sound like a speedo cable/gauge issue or like loose screws in plastic or something

Re: Possible spedo noise
I'd take it back apart again, chances are when you reassemble you'll fix whatever might be out of whack. While it's apart this time, lube your speedometer cable. It's very easy to do and only takes a few moments. Pull the cable out of the housing and apply some bearing grease or something and put it back in.
Mine never actually made a noise, but the speedometer would bounce. Lubing the cable fixed it. If you do all that and you still have a chatter or chirping, I'd look for another speedometer. After all, they do have plastic parts inside them, they do wear out.

Re: Possible spedo noise
mine does it too!!! I replaced the speedo cable with a new one thinking it was lubed to fix the jumping issue and it resolved it for a short period of time..Now its chirping and starts going crazy around 60 jumping everywhere...So im going to lube it up with some white grease the next time i get a chance...Im pretty sure it should resolve the issue
