wiper troubles??
Put the truck back together a while back and recently tried the wipers. They "park" in a vertical position instead of horizontal at the cowl. Anybody ever had this?
Does the switch control this? Did I put something together backwards?? thanx in advance.

Re: wiper troubles??
How is the travel of the wipers? If the travel is to far you can let them stop and take the arms off and reposition in the right place.

Re: wiper troubles??
If its a two prong switch, you might have the plug reversed.

Re: wiper troubles??
Since the park mechanism is internal to the wiper motor gear/head portion of the wiper motor assembly, it sounds like either the wiper motor is mounted upside down (if this is even possible) or perhaps the wiring may be connected backwards.
Figures number 146 & 147 attached from the 1960 Chevy Shop Manual show the parking mechanism, and the text at the bottom of the first page and top of the second page explain the park feature functioning.

Re: wiper troubles??
Your linkage is prolly 180 out. Unbolt from the motor, turn & re-connect.

Re: wiper troubles??
I referred to it as a timing issue, it was simple after scratching your head for a couple of hours.
