There always seems to be someone asking for advice on pricing etc. on buying a truck. Here is a nice original well documented reasonably priced 1972 GMC CST original California truck on Ebay. If this seller had had this truck at Pomona 2 weeks ago when I was there,I might own it now.

That is a very nice truck. I love the original or mostly original survivors. If I were a rich man, I would own that sucker!

That's how I buy them. It's a very nice one. I guess we can't say "reasonably priced" till we know how much it costs,though. I don't think I've ever seen the "Custom" door badge before on a 71/72 GMC,let alone a Sierra. That's what it is,a Sierra,and it doesn't have the bedside badge. We had a thread on GMC trim levels and this one ,makes good subject matter. A detail that never came out of that discussion.

Nice truck, I love the originals like this. Nice color too.

Did you guys notice the pin striping on the truck, Exactly the same as a 72 GMC bed I just hauled home from WA. Was it a particular dealer/area that had these done? I know its not an unusal pattern or anything but Look closely the top line is thicker than the lower and they are at the same height.

Edit: I see its a factory paint stripe on the SPID!! Learn something new all the time, thats why I like these trucks so much. Even the experts like Tim are still puzzled by the things they did like the Sierra badging so I know there are plenty more mysteries awaiting.

That is the standard "Beugler Striper" applied RPO D89 paint stripe option. Most of the time our trucks have been beat or repainted to the point that these original details are gone.

Judd,you would have liked my '69 K/10 CST Custom Camper. Yep,it had Custom Camper/10 emblems. It was Burgundy w/Red interior & Silver pinstripe,buckets,tach,tow hooks,8" steel wheels,wood floor,cab lights,bumper guards...

The thing with the badging is very odd. Ever since the Sierras & Sierra Grandes started they had the bedside badge. I know they didn't at first in late-69 and they were offered later to bonified trucks as an upfit. I know those were packages on top of the trim level 69-71 and only their own trim level in '72. I guess I have seen them with Custom door script but not w/o the bedside badge.
