Tire Confusion
235/70/15s now on the truck mounted on ralley take-offs from a van. The kind with a yellow bowtie in the center cap and a chrome trim ring. Maybe 7"?
Due to lowering blocks, the truck now sits level. I want to keep it that way. I have 2 235/60/15s off the Grand National (BFG radial GTs). They are shorter and wider than the tires now on the truck. I'd like to use the 60s someplace on the truck. Question is - If I put the 60s on the front of the truck, what size do I get for the rear that will be wider and still look okay on my rims? Or - If I put the 60s on the rear, what do I get for the front that would be narrower and still be the same heighth? Didn't mean to write a book. Sorry. Anybody? Thanks |

Sorry, but I'm really dense on this subject.
Don't have any 265/30s. Have 2 235/60s. I'd like wider tires in the back, but still keep the truck level. Do I put the 235/60s in the front? If so, what do I get for the rear that are wider but still the same heighth? If I put the 235s on the rear, what do I get for the front that will be narrower but still the same heighth? All 4 still have to look okay on the same size rims. Thanks |

I appreciate the info, but I don't have 16" rims.
In the rear, or in other places Until I win the lottery, I'm stuck with these 15" wheels. Thanks Quote:

Goodyear stores have a chart for diameter, etc. Others might also.

you could go 275 50 15 in the rear they would be 3.5mm shorter, or 295 50 15 which will be 6.5mm taller

The 235 60's are about 26" tall. There is a 265 50 15 which is 25.5" only 1/2" shorter and would look ok. IMHO a 255 is pushing it for a 7" rim. Go to tire rack www.tirerack.com and use the tire selector. You can input brand, sizes and tire type and look at the specs. Good luck.

I have been looking through a Uniroyal book that my dad brought home from work. It lists 235/60's as being 26.2" tall. The closest thing I could find that you could use in a possible combo is 205/75 up front....they are 26.3" tall. I will keep looking for now.

If you want to look around you can go to www.bfgoodrichtires.ca, very easy to use site.
It looks like it will be tough to match those tires up and keeping it level. 275/60's are 25.9" and the 295/50's are 26.7" (but won't fit or look great on a 7" rim).
