whats a good engine book
Im wanting to get a book about high performance engines. I know how engines work so I dont really need one of those, I was wanting more info about how lifter acc, piston speed, rod ratio, scavaging, quench, valve overlap, igniton and cam timing things like this affect how a engine runs. Does anyone know of a book that would cover these things in depth?

Re: whats a good engine book
There was one by Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins on small block chevys that was good. It would not have the latest technology in it but most all the ideas would be the same.

Re: whats a good engine book
join the AERA. it costs a lot of money but if you are a serious builder you need to. info on all engines ever made. nothing like it on the web. will cost you 1000.00 a year however to belong but well worth it. no book you buy is anywhere near the AERA as far as info. No One. Most NASCAR teams belong
http://aera.org/ We are members. Every company building motors should belong. Last edited by mbgmike; 05-24-2012 at 12:41 PM. |
