Re: 68-72 rear coil spring diameter
I can measure one when I get home after work if no one else answers this for you. I have seen a few use rear Jeep Wrangler springs to get a 3-4" drop on these trucks.

Re: 68-72 rear coil spring diameter
Geee Whiz! nobody beat me to it ?? Pigtail ID is 2.5", Pigtail OD is 4". OD of the spring I have is .70ish. Approximate of course. These measurements are from a Brothers trucks drop spring. I checked the OD against the oe coils on my truck and the oe coils may be slightly bigger OD, kinda hard to measure while on the truck but i came up with 4.125" OD, maybe off cuz its hard to get my arms and head in there to see.
