High Hump
I would like to know why there seems to be a great interest in the High Hump floor pans. I know that a floor shift Granny 4 speed truck had to have them. I have a 68 C10 that was originally a small block with a Powerglide transmission and it came with a low hump. I have installed a TH700R4 in it under the low hump with no problems. I am planning on installing a Big Block in the near future and will be using the 67-71 frame mounts for it. Will I have any problems doing this and keeping my Low Hump? Did all Big Block trucks originally come with a High Hump?
Thanks, Charles

Re: High Hump
I don't know this to be fact but I think some of the guys that lower their trucks[a lot] use them as well. Big blocks did and 4x4's did as well. I have one big block truck that has one and I am putting one in my two 70's that I am building one for a big block and the other for a t-5 ,Neither of witch has to have the high humps for me it is more of a wnat thing I guess. I also plan to put one in my C-60 project and I know for sure that it won't need one but if I put in a floor hump in that big truck I can then order a regular truck carpet for it[I think]

Re: High Hump
With worn out cab mounts my 4L60E is resting against the floor, a little close for comfort even with new cab mounts. Thats why I got a high hump.
If you run a Porterbuilt "front dropmember" it is required because the dropmember raises the engine/trans 1.5". No I don't have one yet but I hope someday I will have... Z-ing the frame or other sectioning of the frame/suspension to get your frame to lay flat may also raise the drivetrain and cause floor interference. I think T-56 swaps (late model 6 speed) are taller than an old school tranny and hits the floor from what I have seen in other builds on here. High humps are cooler than low humps ![]() Thats my 2 cents, and carpet is specific to high hump or not.

Re: High Hump
Low humps are wayyyy cooler!
I made my Cummins and 47RH fit under a low hump, I cut the crossmember up instead of changing humps and messing with my trans crossmember. |

Re: High Hump
Are'nt the floors in the med duty like C40-50 -60 flat in the floor or a low hump. I was thinking they had a flat floor panel where the hump should be. I looked at on today[C50] but didn't notice the hump I was too busy looking at the original paint 24,344 mile truck and the orginal no rip seat.
