Airbag Control
Hi Guys , I have a build in the suburban / blazer section , its a pretty big ride . Its just about finished and rides like a caddy with the custom springs and lift I have .
I have done a airbag setup on the rear to control body roll . The roll is not to bad just notice it in cornering , made a big difference in the rear . I am going to put a pair of the firestone tapered sleeves in place of my bottom out stops ... they were for looks anyway . Is it best to isolate each bag , I'm not going to need to change the air pressures , right now I have the rear bags sharing a line and it leaks a bit so I am going to split them up . Thanks Greg |

If controlling body roll is your objective, then it is mandatory to isolate the bags. Until you do, they air will transfer from side to side as the truck leans in a corner. If your running Schrader valves, simply run two and enjoy the improved ride.

Without isolating the bags, your body roll is actually worse than if there were no bags at all.
When making a turn, the truck transfers weight opposite the direction of the turn. EXAMPLE: This means that if you make a long hard left, the body rolls to the right, pushing air out of the right bag. That air leaving the right bag will actually inflate the left bag through the shared line. This will actually add lift to the inside wheel. This compounds the problem of body roll. Basically doing the opposite of what a sway bar does. Isolate your lines! Hope that helps! Posted via Mobile Device |

It may not be noticeable in a short turn somewhere around the neighborhood.......unless you have a large air line connecting the bags.......
A long ramp on or off the expressway would be a much different story. I would recommend a well sealed schrader for each bag......and no air line if at all possible. Posted via Mobile Device |

I did the rear bags and it did make a difference because we were dealing with a lot of weight .
I also just ordered a pair of the tapered cone style bags for the front of the truck . I just had the truck out yesterday and has slight body roll in the turns still , that is to be expected for the quality of ride I am getting . I'm just going to tighten up the roll a bit more and call it done . Thanks for all the input guys . greg |
