Engine View
Hi guys. New to the Forum. I am looking at getting a 1986 chevy C-10 long bed. The one I have found has a newly built 355 engine and a turbo 350 transmission. Just wondering if I could get some peoples thoughts and views on the engine. I have attached a picture. The owner claims only 100 miles on the new engine and all it needs is the fine tuning to the engine and it's good to go

Re: Engine View
Yea as far as the small block Chevy being a great engine it is and should haul that truck around fine. It looks pretty clean from your picture. I would be a little worried about someone selling a truck with a motor with only a 100 miles though. I would ask the owner who rebuilt it and what receipts they have from the build. Imo the rings wouldn't really even be set yet and I would ask if its a hydraulic flat tappet cam how exactly the cam was broke in. Let it run a good bit and drive it and see how it acts. Make sure it doesn't overheat or blow any white smoke after its warmed up. Also listen to it run listening for a miss. If everything looks all good it might be a good buy.
