Looking for camaro clip brake line bracket
Some how in the process of rebuilding my 77 camaro clip for my project truck i have lost the drivers side brake line bracket and retainer. Is there any were on line i can buy this? All the salvage yards around here have crushed all the old stuff. I am installing brake lines and really need this bracket to finish. Its the bracket that mounts rubber line from caliper to sub frame. Here is a pic i found of passenger side mount. I need the drivers side mount and retainer clip.

Re: Looking for camaro clip brake line bracket
I'm going to the wrecking yard tomorrow morning, the last time I was there they had a 75ish camaro. I'll see if what you need is there and pull it if it is.

Re: Looking for camaro clip brake line bracket
You can buy the U clip that holds the line at Autozone and other parts houses. I saw them the other day. That same bracket might be on Chevelles or G body cars.

Re: Looking for camaro clip brake line bracket
Worst case its an easy angle piece to fab. The horse shoe brackets are on the replacement part aisle at Autozone, Schucks, etc.

Re: Looking for camaro clip brake line bracket
I don't blame you for wanting the orig. bracket if you can find it. That bracket not only has the locating tab and holds the flex line from the d/s caliper but it also holds the p/s hard line and makes the provision to blend the two lines into one line going to the MC. I've seen some good fabrication but I've also seen junk tacked on to a truck that degraded the entire build. Hang in there.

Re: Looking for camaro clip brake line bracket
i guess i just like to make stuff
i'll spend 3 hrs on a bracket that cost $5 at the junkyard but if you include the time and gas to go get it, i win a lot of guys think truk is a high dollar build, not. i just make everything

Plus i can spend the two or three hours fab time on something more important. (like finishing my brake lines)

Re: Looking for camaro clip brake line bracket
Don't get me wrong, I'm a fabricate kind of guy. I just think it's OK to pick your battles especially since, on any custom, there's a ton of stuff you have no choice but make. I also think spending a day with a tool bag rolling in the dirt at some "pick and pull" rates every bit as good as fabricating and sometimes the creatitivity of using "used" parts even trumps it. I also HATE when I know I had something that would work perfectly and now I don't have it.

Re: Looking for camaro clip brake line bracket
Check with Classic Industries or one of the other aftermarket suppliers. I bought some for my 69 Camaro from them.

Re: Looking for camaro clip brake line bracket
5 days down and still counting, waiting on a bracket that you could have made in an hour or two

Go to NastyZ28.com, go to the swapmeet section, ask for one. The good people on there will no doubt throw one at you.

Re: Looking for camaro clip brake line bracket
Fabbing one is very simple and wont take much time. 16ga sheetmetal >cut to orriginal shape > bend> paint> and install. had both mine done in 30 min because I couldn't find any place that sels them near me
