Re: Switch identification

Hey Neighbor! Welcome to the board!
Sounds like the kickdown switch used on trucks equipped with Turbo 400's
Does it look like this?

Re: Switch identification

Jesse, yep that is exactly what it looks like. None of my local parts companies can find that part in their listings

Re: Switch identification

GM part number is 1242101. Most places should be able to cross that over or you can get online:

Hope this helps

Re: Switch identification

Be sure you adjust it too after you replace it. If I recall there is a button inside the shaft of the switch that will spring the switch towards the firewall. You then fully depress the accelerator pedal and it will self adjust the switch. The picture I posted is of one that has yet to be adjusted as the shaft is sprung all the way to the left. Once adjusted, it will be close to the center......give or take a little....

Re: Switch identification

LMC may have a part in their list too, there is a page of switches and such, my book is in my truck right now or I'd have a page for ya.

Re: Switch identification

Again my thanks for all the helpful replies. I was told by a hot rod shop that this switch is not needed, just power the solenoid and set it and i'd be good to go, not sure i want to go that route but i may
thanks
