Break petal too high
My petal is about 4/6" too high. I have a 51 3600 with V8 and 700R4 tranny and disc brakes all around. The only solution I can think of is cutting a few inches out of the rod. Would there be a better solution?

Re: Break petal too high
I take the pedal shaft off & cut it right underneath the pedal. Cut off the amount you want & weld it back on.

Re: Break petal too high
That's what I suspected I would have to do. I just thought someone had a better way. I hadn't thought about cutting at the back of the petal. That would make my weld less visible. Thanks guys.

Re: Break petal too high
Before you cut it, make sure you check that you have full travel with the engine running if you have power brakes. Ask me why I say this? Well I cut one to short because I measured what I wanted to remove without vacumn and it ended up being too short!
