Difference between Blazer Tops?

I'm getting rid of my white hard top (1971). The guy before me cut a hole in the top for a vent cover (trying to make it a camper I guess). It's white if anyone wants it... solid other than the square hole on top (covered with a fiberglass sqaure).

My question is, is there a difference between the 1969-72 hard tops? I have my eye on one in good shape, but the guy doesn't know if it's off a 71 or 72. Visually it looks identical to mine, but on the ground vs on the truck are obviously very different?

Any pictures would be great.

Re: Difference between Blazer Tops?

Only 2 styles were made for the gen 1 blazers. A double wall and a single wall top. Single wall tops have interior lights, bolts from the top down and are lighter/better IMO.

Double wall tops did not come with interior lights, bolt from the bottom up, and are heavier and have sagging problems.

The latches are the same on both tops. Both tops will fit and work. If you have a double wall top and get a single wall top, you will need to weld nuts on the bottom of the bed rails to hold the top down.

OLD K5 - send me some pictures of your Blazer. It looks really nice! I'd like to see more of it. You're only 15 minutes from me too. May see you on the road.

If it is a "come pick it up" deal I'm interested. A bit of driving but might be just the thing for me.

Re: Difference between Blazer Tops?

In my case changing from a double to a single wall the holes in the bed rails were different. Wasn't a problem for me in the case that I had to repair most of the flange on the single wall, and I changed the hole location. Might want to take a few measurements!

Re: Difference between Blazer Tops?

Hi blazerboss. I regretfully sold that Blazer 4 years ago. But I have one just like it being shipped out to me from the east coast as we speak. It took me two years to find a replacement just like it. When i get it i will post some pics.
