Are trailing arms interchangable between 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton pick-ups?

We are considering changing the trailing arms on our '61 GMC 1500 3/4 ton sidestep. Can we use trailing arms from a 1/2 ton or does it specifically have to be trailing arms for a 3/4 ton?

They will interchange but the 3/4 ton arms had additional plating on the top & bottom as a way to make them stronger. Early Classic Enterprises sold a 'reinforcement' kit but a guy could simply get some .125" steel & make his own if there was a need.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
