What did you do to your truck over the Memorial Day holiday?
Just curious what everyone did to their trucks over the Memorial Day weekend and holiday?
As for me, finished replacing all the ball joints, installed the CPP power steering kit, replaced the idler arm, and replaced the brake hoses on the front drums. Also took the time to buy a new grease gun and made sure everything was properly greased.

Re: What did you do to your truck over the Memorial Day holiday?
Bad luck set in and I drove my truck that hasn't been on the road in over 2 years all the way to a buddys house (about 40 miles). The reason for the drive was to adjust the valves (making a little noise). Well after pulling the first valve cover 3 rockers were knocked off one valve spring was in pieces, rod was broke, and a valve was bent!!!!!!!!!!! The other side looked ok but all the valves were wore down. So I guess for my Memorial day the top end is being rebuilt.

Re: What did you do to your truck over the Memorial Day holiday?
I went with Dupli-color light drift sand metallic. I still have to even out the paint some(dry spots). I ran out of paint and no one has it. The can is small and doesn't last long so I drove to 4 stores to find it. I didn't want to spend $100 for a quart and all the stuff that goes with it. I read a tread on this color and I said what the hell I will try it. It looks good I still need to clear, cut and buff.

The pic doesn't do any justice. It is real close to the original fawn. i think it has more gold in it and more gloss. The fawn was like a semi-gloss. It looks good now but after I color sand and buff I think it will look better.

Re: What did you do to your truck over the Memorial Day holiday?
Added to my tail lights this weekend. I put the chevrons on my fenders to go with the military theme but I didnt measure it when they were off the truck so I tucked them in to far. I really dont want to move them noe because I'm trying to get the truck on the road so I came up with this idea......

Re: What did you do to your truck over the Memorial Day holiday?
ya know, i thought of that right after I posted! No, would not get tired of yours - it's SUPPOSED to be olive drab. I'm diggin the flashlights for taillights. If they work as well as the ones the military issued, you'll be getting tickets all the time...

I still love the looks of your truck. Those hubcaps and wheels really make the whole combination come to life.

Re: What did you do to your truck over the Memorial Day holiday?
I took mine to a show saturday afternoon, and today I finished priming my tailgate and blocked it, its looking real close to getting that part of the truck into paint, finally.

Re: What did you do to your truck over the Memorial Day holiday?
Replaced the ground battery terminal cable. I had some issues with a new battery draining/not charging. This seems to have fixed it!
I also drove around A LOT! Made a short trip over to the Indiana side of the Ohio for a quick picture too! Scott |

Re: What did you do to your truck over the Memorial Day holiday?
had a miss develop, so changed out plugs, points, wires, cap, rotor button, condenser, re-checked ignition timing. Mission accomplished runs much better. however i do think my coil is getting weak. i only have about 8 volts coming out of the negative post of the coil. is that to low?
