Re: lowering stock 51 suspension

Nostalgia Sid in Oklahoma city can stretch ur factory front I beam 3-4 additional inches to lower the front. Then u can get poise or another after market leaf spring pack to lower more.

He puts it in a jig and heats it and uses a press or jack to drop it. It's called dropping and I beam axle.

Sid's web site has been down for a couple of days though.
Here is his facebook page.
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Nosta...89985021013549

www.Droppedaxles.com is the website

He has a stellar reputation for dropping axles for parallel leaf spring trucks.

Usually you ship your axle in and have it dropped or if he has a core you can pay the core charge and send your axle back later or keep it and suck up the core charge.

I should have also said that blocks in the back will work to get it down a bit but you may have to put a C notch in the frame to keep the axle from hitting the frame.

Also several vendors including Posies http://www.posiesrodsandcustoms.com/ sell springs that will lower the truck while maintaining the ride.
