Heavy Duty Air Cleaner Housing
I bought a air cleaner from the salvage yard, it's a heavy duty air cleaner off a 1986 1 ton Chevy with a dump box, 350 4 barrel. This is gooing on my 81 3/4 ton with 350. I see the inner filter is glued to the filter base. What is the inner filter made of? I'm going to remove the inner filter and just run the outer one if thats ok?
Thanks, Eric |

Re: Heavy Duty Air Cleaner Housing
Its not an "Air Filter" Heavy Duty trucks have it, Its called a Flame arrestor, prevents Air Cleaner from catching fire in case of Carburetor backfiring.
Its not that restrictive, I would leave it in. GM glues it on so its harder to remove. Desert |
