Rear end help

I've got a 1971 GMC 1500. Has a 350 and 350 trans three speed. Just got the truck a few months back and having alot of fun with it. The other day driving to work which is less than 3 miles from my house I grenaded the rear end. Just looking for A little help on what to replace it with. My truck has leaf springs in the rear. I found a 3.42 geared rear end from a 1991 Suburban. Just wondering what I will have to do to as far as the brake lines etc. Any help or other suggestions I'm open to them and working on a limited budget. Hate seeing her broke in the drive way.

Re: Rear end help

The 88+ rears are wider and idk about the perches. A 73+ truck has the same overall width as the 71-72 so maybe one of them would be a good option? again idk about the frame width vs perch locations. Hopefully someone else can answer that for you.
