My truck made it to its first car show, pics
My truck made the 45 mile round trip with only the fuel filter stopping up on the way home. It was nice to get the extra motivation from just being able to drive it, but the response from the spectators was an extra boost. So many people looked past the fact that it wasn't painted and such, commenting on how straight and rust free it was and they loved the family history of it being my grandfathers. Several "old timers" even knew my Grandpa and some remembered the truck.
My truck was the only 60-66 in or at the show It was a Great day

Leave it oringinal since it was Grandpa's but add only slight mods to make it an easier regular driver Probably go with custom package and two tone... something like this, but stock wheels

Good for you! Do you know why the filter plugged? What did you do about it?
I like the blue on that truck you posted. I'll have to consider it for my Burb.

Re: My truck made it to its first car show, pics
this is exactly why i would leave the patina, at least for now...only one chance to see something truly original, straight, & rust free that isn't covered with bodywork/shiny paint...it stands out in a crowd....and as you said, some folks remember the truck as it is/was your grandfather's...once you cover it up, it won't be as recognizable....of course, this is just my opinion....it's a cool truck, & i'm happy to see you getting to enjoy it

Re: My truck made it to its first car show, pics
looks like you are truly enjoying the old girl, well done, and love your plans for her. I am off on my first adventure into northern Ontario this weekend, have support for the first 2 hours of the drive, then on my own for the last hour! I guess I could call on someone from 30 minutes from the south or north if I kak out halfway through the last hour

Nothing like being able to drive your own vehicle to a show in any condition vs going in one of these modern marvels.

Re: My truck made it to its first car show, pics
Congrats on the 1st show. 1st gen c-10's are the least commonly seen here at our shows. We get tons of 48-55's and alot of 67-72's.
