Missing rear cross member?

Hi guys

im finally trying to get my 63 c10 on the road, its going away soon to have the engine fitted but im trying to tie up all the lose ends before it leaves

its dropped on lowered springs on the back and it came with a shock relocating kit, im trying to figure out where it goes and it seems like the rear cross member is missing,

Any of you guys shed any light?

Re: Missing rear cross member?

Yeah, there is supposed to be a crossmember right where the springs bolt to the frame. You really need to have some sort of crossmember there.

Re: Missing rear cross member?

contact porterbuilt for a crossmember. Its not expensive and do you have the panhard bracket? If not you can get one of those as well. Good luck!

Not at all, Porterbuilt ships. Customs won't even know what it is other than a piece of tube steel. Contact him at http://www.porterbuiltfabrication.com/ and he'll get you set up!

Look at "Tubular Replacement Crossmembers" once you get to the sight.

Stock crossmember with relocation kit.

Different truck but same setup, looking from above.

Here are a couple of photos of the crossmember in question on my chassis. As the others mentioned, I would look to a Porterbuilt rear crossmember kit as a far better replacement over the stock one, especially since yours was conveniently removed for just such an upgrade.
