Interior or Exterior first?

Ok, my 63 is 99% ready for paint, however, I'm still saving up the cash to get the paint job. My question is, should I go ahead and do the interior while I'm waiting? I have all the weatherstripping and stuff, carpet, seat cover, air conditioning.... Should I go ahead and start on that?

I talked to my windshield guy and he said to replace the windshield AFTER it's painted.

Personally I'd hold off. That way the truck can be sprayed from the inside out. If you put things like weather stripping on, you'll have to mask it when you "jamb" the cab. Plus it just looks more professional to apply these things over new paint, than to have to back mask them.
Last thing you wanna do now is get ahead of yourself...

Probably getting good advice here. Although I'm sure your anxious to get the interior done you would make a lot more work at paint time. Maybe you should buy another project to work on while your waiting.

Ha! The wife has said no more projects till I sell something! And there's a V8 66 Mustang on the local CL for $1500.....

I say wait. I painted my interior first and the overspray and blocking messed it up so I have to do it again.

overspray is a booger bear to get off of and out of new int. pieces and trim parts and rubber. it is sooo much easier on the painter or the masker if they are two people in the paint shop to not to have to mask that stuff up proir to paint.

Good advice here, if you are that close to painting then by all means do it. Koda360 makes a good point. You will end up with a much cleaner/neater looking rig. My 2 cents.

I would say interior, might as well make yourself comfortable while you save up for the next step, as it were.
