Broken part repair question

I bougt a 4 headlight grill from a guy on here quite awhile back and never really looked at it until this morning when I was going to install it.

I find that the headlight support posts are all broken off on both of the cans.

Can these be replaced or do I have to scroung up some new cans to get a fix?

The arrow in the pic is what is supposed to be there and the circles show the ones missing.

Oh and if you can tell what year chevrolet this came out of by looking could you tell me please?

As always,

Thanks in advance. You guys are amazing at your willingness to help.

Re: Broken part repair question

Yes, someone sells those. I have some, don't know where off the top of my head, but they came in the box of extra parts when I bought my truck.
You have to drill out the rivets that hold them to the bucket. I think the ones I have came with new rivets, but I won't swear to that.

If I can find 'em, you can have 'em.... May take a day or two to locate though...

Re: Broken part repair question

I bought all that stuff for mine at Chevy Duty. $1.99 each for those parts:

Re: Broken part repair question

Thanks for the help. I really do appreciate it. Just about have her back together and am getting excited about trying to drive it.

Another quick question if I may:

Are the chrome headlamp retainer rings year specific or does it matter at all?

Re: Broken part repair question

They are year specific only in the sense that you need the rings that fit either the small headlamp bulbs on 4 headlight system, or the larger rings for the 2 headlight bulbs. 60-61 Chevy and 60-66 GMC all use the same small rings.

The rings from other 4 headlamp system cars and trucks may or may not fit, depending on the clock position of the retaining tabs for the attaching screws.

Re: Broken part repair question

Got it.

Thanks very much.

Today's project came to a screaching halt when I discovered most of the posts broken off on the lights but I did get the grill mounted.

Easy job.

Re: Broken part repair question

Funny you should ask. I just snapped this picture this morning. You will need to turn the part over, grind off the rivit head (dremel took with sanding drum works best) the new parts come with the bolts and nuts to mount in the same holes.
