Got my 70 SWB 4x4
This truck was posted here on craigslist in Illinois. The truck had been in New Mexico all it's life and the nephew of the original owner inherited it. He had it transported then put it up for sale. I went back and forth with him for a week or so and struck a deal with him and had it shipped. It's a one owner with 44k original miles. All he used it for was to pull his travel trailer. It has plenty of extra goodies on it from that kind of use, I spent all yesterday removing add ons, now I gotta work on taking off all the extra wiring and stuff. It drives amazing and I'm more than tickled with it. I'm gonna add a tach and a tilt, air, and go from there. I was astounded when I pulled the camper and saw the shape of the bed, I was worried it might be beat up or rusted from the camper, but it looks as if camper had been on it since new. I found a used bumper that'll work for now and i'm gonna add a rear sport bumper. Camper is gonna make a nice deer blind.

Re: Got my 70 SWB 4x4
I can't figure out why he touched up hood on a whole spot with a color that doesn't even come close to matching, I felt inside and there's no dent or ripple, can't ever tell what old guys are gonna do!!

Re: Got my 70 SWB 4x4
A friend of mine almost bought that a few months back... Looks pretty nice! What were those bolt "things" at the back of the bed??? In the pics I saw it looked like some sort of fastener for the camper?

Nice find. The car business must be treating you well. I would like to have that one.

Edit: I know what your talking about now, those were on bedside, it was some fasteners for a tent or something that went on back of camper. Posted via Mobile Device

Nice truck! Just out of curiosity, what kind of things did you have to remove to unmodify it?

Re: Got my 70 SWB 4x4
Oddball size, but they look right for the skinny wheel, they are 215/85-16

Re: Got my 70 SWB 4x4
Thanks for all the compliments guys, I know it's everyone's dream to find the same thing loaded with options in a stellar color combo, but I've learned to appreciate them all and ones like this that remain in good shape after 42 years.
