I have turboo 400 I have order 2 dip sticks tube and stick and can't find one that will fit. do they make different sizes the ones I get are to big to go in the hole

You are positive you have a 400? , Turbo 350's have a square looking pan with the corner cut off. post a picture of your trans or measure the hole in the trans. let us know.

Another thing, my 400, the dipstick tube slid into a rubber grommet. It was not an easy fit and had to be manipulated down on the transmission. Even with lube, I had to use a pair of Channellocks to persuade it in.
I'll see if i can find a pic or link to the grommet.
When I got the new tube, they didn't ask as about the size, so I'd assume that they're pretty standard. Dipstick/tube came from the local dealership. 20-25 bucks. (iirc)

Like donut mentioned, in later years they went to a rubber grommet style seal. This seal goes in the trans first, then the dipstick.

The older models used a simple o-ring on the tube itself.

Both of these tubes are made differently for the different type of seal.

It would help to know what year you are dealing with. The rubber grommet style didn't start showing up until around the mid 80's.

mine has the rubber in the trans the one I order has the oring. and yes mine is the bottom pan in the pic
