Lets talk guage hook-up... help me out...
ok... when i bought my '75 stepside, the previous owner had all manual guages hooked up... when i bought my new cab (from an '84) i got the complete interior wiring/fuse box. now, i also aquired a fully reconditioned tach dash cluster.
so, how do i hook these guages up? after i plug in the wiring harness plug on the back, i then have to hook up each guage individually? using sending units? where's a good place to hook up my temp, side of head? i also, am probaby going to get a painless system... how does that complicate/simplify the above? thanks again! |

painless system makes it very easy now you don't have to guess which wire it is....temp. on head if the wires won't get burned???or on the intake might be better???

I have always run the temp on the intake and never had any problems. I can't help you on the wiring question since I haven't gotten that far on mine...but I can tell you the Painless kit is simply awesome and appears to be worth every penny.
