Re: need help decoding block code
Welcome to the boards but it looks like you are in the wrong place. But since you are here .... This is what I am came up with.
F Flint plant 3 March 1 1st day of March IT 1969 350 tur 350 trans, taxi 4bbl carb. full size cars Go over to here for a lot of info. In reality the casting number and date code are needed to cross check and get it right. http://www.nastyz28.com/chevy-engine-code-stampings.php

Re: need help decoding block code
I am sorry if my post is in the wrong place. What i did not state is that I am thinking of putting this motor in my 67 long stepside. also there is no (1)s in the stamping just F3IID and nothing else. Thanks for any help.

Re: need help decoding block code
Done a lot of decoding and have seen a lot of variations. In fact I don't remeber ever seeing an "I" stamping before. Anyway this is as close as the normal format gets and is probably it. But, again, if you get the casting number and the date along with a picture of the "F3IID" posted I can try digging further. The Nasty site has a lot of info and where to find the numbers on the block. Good luck and I'm glad you have a '67 stepside too, but elkys are cool in their own way.

Re: need help decoding block code
OK, bad night I guess. Somehow I transposed the number.
Sorry about that. ID codes as a '66 327 SHP application.
