72 2wd blazer

So it's back to school time for the next 3 years and I hate to let my DD sit in the garage while I go back to driving the honda for awhile. Not really sure I want to sell but I thought I'd at least look at my options. I've been DD this for the last nearly two years and it has approx 15,000 miles on the 454. With the FAST efi I get 15mpg but think its capable of more if tuned on a dyno. Feel like it's near the finish line but needs to have the top and body painted and a/c added. Have new booster, M/C and ss hard lines in the box and have a new camaro gas tank and sender as I have been planning on doing that mod for some time. Rear tires are like new fronts need replacing in the near future. Heres a link to my build where most of the work is listed in the first post. Also have just added a griffin aluminum radiator. All body work is done.
Thanks for any help. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...hlight=MURPHYS

Re: 72 2wd blazer

Chris- How hard would it be to convert this back to a full-top Blazer that seats 4 people? Is it just a matter of changing the top and adding the back seat?

Re: 72 2wd blazer

To be honest...I'd list the buddy buckets and half top separately in the ad if you are looking to sell. And fix the things you mentioned. Offer with a bench (or factory seats if you still have them) and have the upgrade options for the buddy's and half top. Then, with the issues you mentioned fixed... it's mainly paint needed for the next owner...and if they want the half top and buddy buckets, they know what they will have to pay for them...and if they pass on them...you'll be able to sell those in no time for probably around 2K for the pair of them if not a little more...

Re: 72 2wd blazer

Zepp, How ya been? Nothing has been permanently changed on the blazer that would interfere with taking in back to the original top and seats . All the holes for the top are there as well as the seat holes. One hole was drilled for the center mount beneath the buddy bucket console. It would need the sheet metal pedestals fabed up for the rear seat. I purposely refrained from anything that would keep from reverting back to a full top. It could quickly and easily be done.

Re: 72 2wd blazer

Don't do it man!!! I really want to see this thing finished up. To me it sounds like a great time to get it painted. Plenty of time to get it torn down and prepped for paint. I've thought about selling my 2wd blazer a few times but when it comes down to it I know i would regret it in the end. But since your asking WIW I would think around $15000 with the body being as clean as it is.

My thoughts are price it high and if someone wants it bad enough they will pay it and if you get what your asking it might help with the regret later.

Re: 72 2wd blazer

Bought my Blazer when I was 19. Gonna fix it from the last accident and drive like like I was still 19. Life is short and there are many regrets. I regret letting my Blazer sit rusting for the last five years. She misses those days. So do I. :-( Raze the Blaze!

Re: 72 2wd blazer

I am with most of the others...keep it if you can. Without it being painted/finished, you are going to take a beating. There are a couple finished/painted 2wd Blazers around me that are priced between 12-15K and they are not moving. Maybe price it at 10K and see if you get any interest?? Good luck with whatever you decide to do, it is a nice clean rig! I hope to have mine back from paint jail in October.
