Im Back with a 72 gmc half ton

Hey everyone! I have been gone for awhile. Owned a few chevy trucks...72 c20, 73 454 c10, 79 2wd blazer, 84 c10, 92 stepside sierra, and now a 2003 silverado. Well, after two years with no car or truck period, im picking up a 1972 gmc 1500 longbed. Has power steering, power brakes, 350, saginaw 3 speed, hooker long tubes, pypes stainless exhaust, flowmaster 40s. No rust, new bench seat.
Picking it up friday. Towing it with my 03 chevy 1500 on a uhaul car carrier hauler. Question is, how wide from outside tire to outside tire is the gmc on the front end? Heard it may have, trouble fitting on the trailer as it is 75 inches wide where the tires sit...anyone have a measurement?

Excited to be back with a 67to72! Ill be asking a lot of questions and posting lots of pictures...see u guys around

I can tell you that you need to know what wheels and tires you have on it, because that can make a big difference on what to expect. I trailered mine when I first got it, and the rear wheels almost made it impossible to get on the trailer...especially since it was raining.

Here it is, next day on the trailer:

Yea thats the trailer im renting. Worried about the front wheels hitting the uhaul fenders. I have a stock truck rally rim with 235/75/15 tires and a stock van rally with the same size tire. Damn, great lookimg truck btw

Re: Im Back with a 72 gmc half ton

i towed home a shortbed with a set of stock rallys on a uhaul and it fit, it was tight but you should be ok. just keep in mind that the front tire nets are not meant for our size tires, both of them came off on me on my trip home, the only thing left holding the truck on was an extra chain i had thrown on it. so extra tiedowns for sure.
