dream engine?
I would like a smalblock 427 from hardcore racing products. It's features, motown block, scat 4340 crank, manley 4340 rods forged h beams, motown alum. heads 220cc, but were I would step in is I would bump the comp. ratio down to about 7.5-8:1 and top it off with a weiand 8-71 BLOWER, and a custom roller camshaft. YEA BABY!!

Build it out of an LS1 aluminum block....with fuel injection....two turbos....ala Lingenfelter vette....
Then......graft the C5 rear transaxle and front suspension in.... Or I saw a 454 small block for sale as well.....Bill Mitchell I believe.... or if you go big block...go BIG like maybe 632 or like Jay-dawg said...the 572.
