Bash Threads

Recently there have been several bash threads within our community. Please note that the Executive Administration does not allow any posts that are made specifically to bash, or those that digress to a negative level.

Posts made specifically to degrade, insult or bash vehicles are not productive to the community. People may justify it by saying it is only a craigslist ad etc.. However, you do not know that the ad owner is not a member of our community. Please refrain from creating or participating in such discussion threads.

Thank you.

Re: Bash Threads

The thread a lot of us got a warning for, was not considered a bash thread by many. Sure, we posted pictures of guys smoking crack because of the outlandish price they were asking, but come on, it was funny I personally considered it a discussion, not bashing. I do understand the need to keep the forums clean, but there is a distinct line between letting people have a little fun and domineering administration

Re: Bash Threads

There are plenty of places out there to bash. This is not one of them. We have had this policy for many many years for good reason. It is not going to change because some feel it is funny.

There are many trucks around that make me want to gag.. however, to someone they are amazing, to some it may be worth its weight in gold. Whom am I to say different. If you really feel it is domineering administration, then by all means feel free to contact Josh directly to discuss his site rules. I am sure he would be happy to discuss them with you.

Re: Bash Threads

When we start to bash trucks folks will take sides...then we not only bash a truck but we start to bash each other. Religion, Politics, and Bashing are areas that will get shut down. Few people have the ability to converse on these topics without getting emotionally involved...me included.

Re: Bash Threads

I didn't report any of those posts, but I did feel the crack pipe posts over the top inappropriate for this family friendly forum.

There's other forums where people can use foul language and post aggressive posts and rip on other members, I don't like forums like that.

I thank administration for keeping things friendly and appropriate for all ages.

Re: Bash Threads

I am grateful the administrators are keeping post. I have had a couple of run ins with members who's options that are to the point of being insulative and disrespectful. I have not posted, made suggestions or given advicefor some time. Trucks are my passion. I have a old old school friend and builder. He's always tells me, "It's about having fun, take your time and enjoy building your truck."

Re: Bash Threads

Obviously we are all here to have fun. Nobody is advocating bashing, its not what I stated I want, and it is not what anyone wants. I was just the first to post my opinion on a topic that was posted, then bumped again by the poster. Its whatever.

We always bump posts like this for a few days. Not everyone logs in before posts slip to the second page. I believe I have permission to do so ???
If noone is advocating bashing, this post would not be here. The justifications of the posts in pm are mind boggling. So yes, it is whatever...

Like you others replied with their opinion. THAT is what a discussion is.

Re: Bash Threads

And with 99,000+ members,... the chances of bashing a fellow member's truck, is pretty good.
It's happened before here.

Re: Bash Threads

One thing that sticks in my mind is something my Mom said after slapping me upside the head"If you can't say something Nice about something Keep Your Mouth SHUT".

Dougf, you remind me of a buddy I had. He would walk into a bar and look for the Biggest guy in there and start a fight. Slow down and get to know the layout of the land, this is a great site and rules keep it that way!
