63 c10 - 5 wires to starter?
who knows what the PO did but my starter died and trying to rig up a new one. no colors match my factory manual and he has a red wire going right to coil.
1 wire also has no connector so no idea if that needs to be skipped or what? at 20 pounds this starter is heavy so i dont feel like undoing every 10 mins to see change wires lol! any ideas? |

Re: 63 c10 - 5 wires to starter?
One way to narrow some of the wires down is to drop the starter and leave it off. Have a buddy sit in the cab where the ignition is, get a test light (for you) and have him turn the key to the on position and test the wires with the test light for the one with power at that time. Then have your buddy turn the key to the start position (holding it in that position) and test for the wire with power. Hope this helps.
