Frame swap
Wanted to see if you guys could answer some questions for me. Im new here and was thinking of buying a late 70's truck and using the frame and running gear for my 70. is this possible without major modifications. would the benifits be worth the work?
Thanks for any help |

Re: Frame swap
Not sure why you'd want to go thru the process of "making" a different model frame fit your trucks body.

Re: Frame swap
First off welcome to the site lots of great info on here. The frame is different. The front frame crossmember is , however the way thousands of people have converted the 67-70 trucks to a 5 lug dics brake set up in the front. The ball joint are a ton cheaper as well.WIth the engine out the crossmember swap is relativly simple to do with a little manpower for help and most of the holes line up with only a couple that need be drilled and then you can have the disc brakes with a sway bar and power steering box without having to source a bunch of parts. Do a search and look in the suspension section on the site and look at some of the threads of those that have done it. Jim
