th700r4 vs th350 torque converters?

hey are the 700r and 350 torque converters interchangeable. I heard you just have to change the pump seal and you can use a 350 in a 700.
I can get a good deal on a high stall

I've never heard that before. I wouldnt try it. 700R4 torque convertors MUST be lockup type unless the tranny was rebuilt spacificly not to use a lockup TC, or else your tranny will be dead quickly.

I've never heard that either. Tom is right in that it needs to be alock up converter. I would get the right one for the tranny.
