Installed MSD now problems

Going to the track tomorrow so I thought I would install my MSD 6AL box..install went good ,fired right up . I then tried the 3000 chip to see how it worked and revved it up and like it supposed to it would not go past 3 grand but also it backfired once , So I put my 6000 chip in and took it for a ride. Now when i hammer the throttle from a stop it stalls , never had that problem before , it used to just leave hard. Could it be possible the accel pump on my Holley blew from the backfire or does everything have to be retuned again ?

Re: Installed MSD now problems

Well the last time i had it out I run it a little lower on fuel then usual so when i took it for a test run after the install it acted up like this , later I took it to put some gas in it and i ended up running out . After putting gas in it ran fine again...lol...how embarrassing .

we all make those stupid mistakes lol i had gas problems as well. i had some gas in it for like 2 weeks.

engine would just crank and crank and crank and crank. nothing. we checked everything. and by everything, i mean every single piece that has to do with starting the engine.

turns out it was bad gas -__- turns out my engine doesnt like anything but fresh gas.

Re: Installed MSD now problems

Oh so MSD has no relation to D'OH!
Amazing how it's almost NEVER the part but the part installer.
I know cuz I've installed parts, sometimes w/ more than a BFH.
