my pulling tractor
when i was growing up, in our area truck and tractor pulling was the big thing. living in northwest Washington, there was a lot of friendly competition between some Americans and some Canadians. this gave birth to the Can-Am Pullers Association. one of the modified tractors form north of the border was called "The Bandit". around mid summer last year, i found the rolling frame from the bandit out in the county here in Washington. well, $1000 later, i now own the tractor.
back in the day when it pulled, it ran two alcohol injected 454"s backed by a turbo 400. very awesome. my plans are to run two 454's with dual quads on a tunnel ram on pump gas or race gas backed with a turbo 400 and start pulling. enough history and typing and such, lets get to the pictures

Re: my pulling tractor
Too cool, theres a tractor pulling competition being held near me in a couple of weks, I might have to take my boys, its not huge over here in the UK so I don't know what they'll have but I've seen it on TV and over there you have some really wild stuff. I was particulalrly impressed with one that had the engines from a russian Hind helicopter gunship.

Re: my pulling tractor
That is so cool, especially because it was a racing history and you saw it compete back in the day. The tractor has a real Hot Rod look to it, with the wheels and paint. I was born and raised in Kentucky, and pulling was a very popular sport for us. We always used to get a kick when we would see an incredibly detailed rig from way out in the sticks with 4 blown and injected Hemis and good 'ol Billy Bob in his big overalls driving it. Some of those country bumpkins had some very competitive machines and knew how to tune them.
I'll be tuning in to this build!

Re: my pulling tractor
I so remember the pulling trucks, I was born and raised in NW Ohio and there the county fair would have a truck/tractor pull competition and also a local demolition derby, my best friends dad participated in it every year ( never won but had a ton of fun). those are the days man! you are a lucky man IMO.
