Which Brakes to Use?

Some of you may remember that my Blazer's rear end met its end a couple of months ago on a family vacation in Florida (right in the middle of a drawbridge). I've been watching for 12-bolts with a 3.73 ratio and just haven't found anything, even after chasing all over the state to visit wrecking yards and other sellers who told me they had one.

Today I went to my local Pic-a-Part and found a 79 GMC with a 12-bolt. I pulled the cover and there were 11 teeth on the pinion and 41 on the ring gear - a 3.73 ratio (not a posi, unfortunately). After fighting it for several hours, I landed it and brought it home. I'm going to have to change the spring perches and the shock mounts, but I thought I'd ask for some opinions about the brakes. The drums on the 79 are significantly larger, with wider shoes, so it would seem they'd be more adequate, but what do you think?
