Cool guard, and a bump for you...I have one on my 71 GMC. Same company made mine. (What's up with Fort Worth 6, Texas?) I bought mine for a 72 Chevy and forgot that it came off a 70 Chevy, which has the same bumper bolt locations as the GMC. (Yours will fit 71-72 Chevy only.)

Not sure how we know Blazerman's guard is 71/72-only. The one on that Blazer isn't using the bumper mount locations anyway. I'm going back to pondering on this now...

I was looking at this on my cell phone and didn see that extra holes were drilled until you mentioned it. It should fit a 67-70 chevy or any GMC without drilling. I wonder if the manufacturer ever changed there design to fit 71-72 or if the installer had to dill holes to fit them (?)

I know because I held mine up to the bumper on my 72 and the outer bolt holes don't line up. 67-70 chevy and 68-72 GMC use the same front bumper brackets, which are different front bumper brackets than 71-72 chevy, due to the turn signal being locTed in the bumper instead of the grill, therefore since the grill guard uses these same bolt locations, they will not fit all years. Not trying to poop on anybody's parade, I just figured it wouldbe better not to have a disappointed.

Re: Grille Guard 200.00

That is my Blazer with the Smash Hit grille guard. Yes, I did have to drill the two lower outer holes because they didn't line up with the original holes. Not sure but I think it has something to do with the bumper braces being different for 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive trucks. My guard came off of a 2 wheel drive Chevrolet which didn't require the extra bolt holes to be drilled.

Re: Grille Guard 200.00

I double checked mine and it fits 71-72 stock bumper bolt holes..if you look close you can see the 2 outer supports dont angle inward as much as the one on cleszkie's Blazer. It will fit 2 or 4 wheel drive as only the inner bumper brackets are different between these two and the bumpers are the same.

cleszkie...Hope you dont mind me using a pic of your Blazer, its the only pic I have of one of these mounted up and it would be hard to find a better example anyway...thats one Tuff looking Blazer!

Re: Grille Guard 200.00

I had a Smash Hit guard (Made in WACO, TX) on a TX truck that I purhcased in the mid 80's, 71 Cheyenne (2WD). The guard bolted right up to the OE bumper holes.
