1 ton pitman arm length?
Does anyone know the length of a 1 ton pitman arm length? Does it have a drop to it? How bout on a 4WD?
I am putting Toyota axles in my son's CJ and running highsteering with 1 ton Chevy tie rods. The stud is a lot bigger than the CJ one so I will have to ream my pitman arm, no big deal in itself but I don't like the amount of meat it will leave. My thought is that maybe a 1 ton pitman arm will work, I have heard that all saginaw gear boxes have the same size shaft. I need to know the length to keep my steering geometry the same. It has a 4 inch drop right now and could really use a touch more to keep the steering link perfectly parallel (it's better than most now but if I have to buy an arm and can make it better, why not).
