Re: 478m

It's worth keeping. 379 or a 432 are harder to find

lots want them except when it comes to paying anything for them, one can usually get more for scrap,
it may only have 9,000 miles on it, but when was the last time it ran

It was run at least once a month. It was in a fire truck from a neighbouring town that was just retired.

Re: 478m

There maybe some interest in it however that engine weighs in around 1100 pounds I think and most people won't pay for the power to weight ratio that is why Ron said people don't want to pay anything for them. The only thing that motor is really worth is to say that you have a 7.8 V6 under the hood. Jollys website is probably the best place to get money for it.

Re: 478m

Hello to the group. A while back I posted in the hope of finding a home for a big, honking V6(473 i believe) but couldn't get any takers so how about this...' does anyone live close enough to Vero Beach, FL to be willing to come and get this brute for next to nothing? How about $50.00? Come and get it. It started life in a crane and spent most of it's career in a Holmes 750 wrecker. It was rebuilt, punched 10 over and had a HEI added but it's been sitting for close to fifteen years. It's been inside so it's dusty but not a pile of rust. I can send out some pics if you're interested. We have to move soon and really don't want to take this with us if we can find it a home that isn't the local scrap yard. If you might have a home for this engine, please email me at jaytoyz@yahoo.com or you can call me at 772-770-3776...ask for JT.

Re: 478m

First off, thanks for the lead! Talked to the guy, arranged shipping, thought we had a deal until I questioned $200 for a pallet and ratchet straps. Didn't hear from him for 10 days, when I called he said he'd sold it for scrap! (Dirty words!) Also, not certain, but bell housing looked like it was for the smaller fly wheel? Didn't get to ask. Back to looking.

ANYONE know where a guy could find a 432 v6 ?

Re: 478m

I have only seen one 432 that was in a junk yard that had been sitting out in the weather for who knows how long doubt it would good for anything.
