Turn signal issue
I have a 1979 c10 with a 87 column swapped in. (one with the intermittent wipers and cruise on the stalk) My right turn signals are not working. I have swapped in some aftermarket lights and all of the lights are wired correctly with brand new grounds. i have also done the big 3 on this truck and took it a little far with the grounds and have used welding cable on a lot of the cables.
So my problem. my right side turn signals are not working. not even on the dash. My left side works fine as does the hazard lights. all of the lights light up with the hazard lights. i swapped the flashers and neither one changes the output of the problem. i measured the voltage going in to the signal switch.....i think it is turn signal or something like that on the diagram. that line is 12v. coming out of both the front and rear signals on the right side read 4-5v all the way from the switch to the lights. i have single 194 blub for my turn signal and a led bar for the rear. the 194 in the front will light dimly but not flash. the led bar in the rear will light up only two leds of the 20ish it has but very dim like. i am assuming that i am supposed to be getting 12v to the lights? I have recently replaced the turn signal switch so i am beggining to think that maybe it is still not working correctly? Any one have any inputs? |

Re: Turn signal issue
Are you using led's for your turn signals or bulbs? If your using bulbs make sure they are two stage bulbs.

Re: Turn signal issue
I am using the side marker lights as my front running lights. I have conversion headlights with an extra 194 socket in them that i am using as turn signals. I also have led boat trailer lights in the rear.
I fear my problem may be the turn signal switch. Since i m getting 12v in and 4.something out to the right side.... Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Turn signal issue
That's strange, I replaced te switch in my column and hadn't had a problem since granted I'm still using the original lighting. You might try posting in the electrical part of the forum, lots of people with a lot of wiring experienc!
