2wd rear blazer coils HELP
Hey guys I got a new project 70 blazer I lowered it with rear coils 4" CPP these were crap bottomed out on everything and bounced up and down. I switched to a 3" Western chassis these are WAY better support the blazer alot better no bouncing and squishiness, But with my two teen kids in it the blazer bottoms out. I know its the extra weight but I was wondering if there was something I could do to keep it low and still support the weight? Something other then bags? Thanks for any help

Did you trim the bump stops after you lowered it ?I know you don't want bags but they do make a helper one that goes inside the coil spring.

Yea but coils support the weight and shocks just keep it from bouncing as much.So I'm not sure a stiff shock would make all that much difference?

talk to people who know what an air shock is and people that have used them // they ARE NOT regular shocks that you have mistaken them for

Yea I've had several cars with air shocks I'm familiar with how they work. They still work like a shock just one you can adjust the firmness on. So yea I guess I could buy them over fill them so theres no give and run them like that. But I was curious if anyone else had a similar issue with a blazer and what kind of coils there running in the back.

I ran 6" drop coils from ECE on my 2wd blazer when it was static dropped.
It did bottom out with a truck load of people in it. Removing the top helped a little, since the back raised up about 1". I didn't find the answer until I bagged it. I installed a bolt-in c-notch. That cured the problem.

I have a 71 chevy LWB with 4" drop coils. I put the helper bags inside the coils and it made a world of differance. I can load it up now and never bottom out. I have no c-notch either and can't see cutting the frame as so many do.
I ran my air lines to the back bumper and installed the shreader valves as my tag bolts.

Hey Andy - - where did you get your helper bags from? Was this cost effective compared to just using air bags on the rear?
