New here, just bought 79 gmc crew cab!
Hello all,
Thought I would pop in and say hi. I just bought a GMC k35 4x4 crew cab long bed. It has 350 and turbo 400 freshly rebuilt only 10miles on them. Love the looks of the square body so I couldn't resist buying it. I figure for paying less than $2k for it I wouldn't be too hurt too bad if it needs anything. Can't wait to start playing with it and getting it fixed up. Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device |

I thought it was a great deal. Dana 60 front and locking diff in the rear. Plus new motor and trans. I figured if anything else I could part it out and get my money back. I bought it to use thus winter when we have bad snow.

Since I have some inside knowledge of this deal, I will let the cat out of the bag and inform everyone that he has upgraded to the Chevy from a F**d! Good choice! Can't wait to take a closer look at the truck! Maybe we should see if we can get bulk rate shipping discounts and order the big stuff for our trucks together. Do you think Cat would let us use their shipping dept while we are at work?

I was hoping they would let me pull it in the west doors and park next to my machines. That way I can work on it while my machines are running!

Not a bad looking truck. How wide are those wheels?

Looks good! Lift it and throw some aggressive tires on it. Welcome by the way

Re: New here, just bought 79 gmc crew cab!
I am assuming the rims are 8x16.5 because the tires are 9.50 x16.5

Nice can never go wrong with a cc 4by! But hey, I may be biased

Re: New here, just bought 79 gmc crew cab!
They should but wouldn't look good on that truck IMHO. If you don't want those steel wheels and caps then put them on here for somebody to buy, don't throw them away.

Re: New here, just bought 79 gmc crew cab!
Try and photoshop them with the size of tire you want and that will give you a rough idea of what you might get. Maybe someone on here can help you out if you don't have photoshop.

Re: New here, just bought 79 gmc crew cab!
You could run Humvee tires with the 16.5 rims you have now.

I would have to lift it to get Humvee tires to fit.

There was one pretty similar to that for sale on 430 S in Lafayette this summer, but I can't remember if it was a GMC or a Chevy.
