Lights
We have been remodling the house of late and my wife was wanting new lights over the fire place so these were took down to be thrown away! Huh...I can use them in the garage I thought.
Well they are track lights with a flat track with 4 screws holding them up. Perfect for what I need in the garage. I have no lights in the garage by the door because when the door is up they wouldn't be much use, so I installed these on the side of the track so when I need light under the hood with the door up. I just had a old cord with out a end on it so I just wired it to the track and plug it in when I need it. I have a old round kitchen light I plan to use like this but it will be for under neath the truck when working on it.

Props to you sir!
Task lighting is a great way of saving energy and getting your workspace well lit without turning on the whole garage. Yours is a primo example of using 'outside the box' ingenuity. I'll be off to the nearest household salvage yard for my own track lights!

I hate throwing something away when it's not broken. I plan to hook a old kitchen light up the same way for working under the truck also with a magnet base.

Well here is the other one I promised. I made this one to use under the truck. U want burn your arm on it either like a shop light.
