how much drop is to much drop
I have a '67 chevy stepside swb. For the front suspension I have 4" drop coil and 3" drop disc brake spindles. For the rear I have 6" drop coils and 2" lowering blocks. I haven't relocated the shock mounts and want to know if i should?? Is the truck going to ride like a damb go-cart, or will it be okay?? I also got an estimate on air ride and the guy told me about $2, 700.00 for the complete kit. Is that about right or is there better deals?? I would rather have air ride but thats a little costly.
Oh and I also have 2" body drop>>> |

You can get a kit alot cheaper than that. Try around $1100 for good stuff.

there is no such thing as too much drop, there are however potholes and speedbumps that are too big.

(frames getting powdercoated and boat repair) I would like to know its not to much hassle for anyone what brand name is the air ride kit for 1,100.00 thanks guys Last edited by kens67chevy; 05-31-2003 at 03:18 PM. |

Wow! thats a lot of drop for a fixed spring truck. To answer your question about the shocks. Yes you will need to do something. You'll also need something other than the stock panhard bar. The 3 inch front dropped coils may also give you some alignment problems if your using stock upper control arms from what I've been told. I've been wondering how low you can go with fixed springs and a bodydrop. If you go through with it I'd sure like to see pics and know how it drives. What you're planning is more than I thought was possible for anything other than a trailer queen. I'd sure like to find out I've been told wrong.
Good Luck....Stroker
