Column - turn signals/brights
Ok guys, I have a 1987 here and the previous owner swapped in a 1994 tilt column. Everything seems alright except that when you are making a turn, the wheel won't click the signals off, and the pull switch for the headlights doesn't click and doesn't do anything having to do with the high/low function of the lights.
I realize this is my first post, but I really couldn't find a whole lot of specific info on these items. (also this is the first vehicle this old I've owned and haven't had to deal with some of these issues before.) Thanks in advance! |

The dash mounted combination light switch turns on the headlights, turns on the dome and floor lights, and dims the dash lamps. It won't "click" but it has a stop detent halfway up. If the detent is a little sloppy or it's malfunctioning or it bothers you you can replace it. Maybe I misunderstand you... What are you expecting the dash switch to do?

Re: Column - turn signals/brights
You were right, I was misleading. I meant the switch in the turn signal stalk...I just wasn't sure where it was or what to look for. I'll look around the base of the column.
I appreciate your help. sounds like i need to disasemble the column to get to the turn signal cancel cam huh?. |

The dimmer switch could be as simple as the actuator rod being unhitched from the dimmer switch or lever. I've never had problems with that either so I never had occasion to pull it apart... This is a parts manual blowup of the 87-91 RV series column. The 94 CK column, since it fits, is probably not that different.

Re: Column - turn signals/brights
I've actually never tried that. I will give that a shot this weekend. I really appreciate all the help. I'm going to be ordering a replacement rag joint to hopefully correct some sloppy steering as well!
